Course Description :
LPI (Linux Professional Institute) has developed two vendor neutral Linux certifications at the intermediate and advanced levels, LPI Level 1 and LPI Level 2.
This particular course is designed to enable participants pass the Linux Professional Institute
Level 1 exams - LPI 101 and 102. To take the exam at the end of the course, you would need to have
a prior on-the-job working knowledge of the Unix/Linux operating system.
You could also sit this course if you are new to Linux/Unix and would like to get a
good overview of the Operating System with a view to sitting the exam at a later date.
This Exam Prep. course revises how to operate and maintain
the Unix / Linux operating system. You will revise how to partition your disks, create
File systems, add users, setup your IP network, customise X Windows,
Configure web server Apache, allow your Microsoft users share your resources
through Samba, share files through NFS, configure NIS, use Cron and more.

Intended for :
Experienced Linux/Users who require a proven certification of their skills. Also, for non-experienced Linux/Users who simply, at this stage, want to sit the course and get an overview of what is entailed in managing and operating a Unix/linux system and perhaps in becoming a member of the Linux Professional Institute at a later date.
Prerequisites :
Ideally, participants who wish to take the exam, should be familiar with Linux/Unix commands, processes and files. They should have previously worked at the Unix/Linux Command Line Interface. Those who wish to sit the course to get an overview of Linux features and functionality should have a technical background

- Understand the Hardware and Architecture of Linux
- Configure modem, sound and different PCI expansion cards

- Understand Linux installation procedures and (RPM).
- Configure and manage inetd, xinetd, and related services.
- Set up and configure basic DNS services .
- Create, Edit, Backup, Restore file systems.
