During the course you'll learn those technologies that are essential to designing distributed, Web-based applications using Java. You'll cover the Java Servlet API, which is a class library for servlets. Servlets are Java programs that run on the server, and send data to the client, much like CGI programs but with a few advantages in terms of performance. You'll learn about RMI and its related technology - object serialization. RMI allows objects in one virtual machine to invoke methods on objects in other virtual machines, even when the other virtual machine is on a physically separate host somewhere else on the Internet. You'll also learn how to use JSP(Java Server Pages) to make your web pages more dynamic.

You’ll learn how to create, deploy and maintain Enterprise Java Beans(EJB) using the Sun Microsystems Container/server. This includes Session and Entity beans. You’ll also learn the Security procedures used in Java such as Policy files, Signatures – public and private keys and the use of JSSE.
