Visual Basic Programming

Description :

We can custom build this VB.NET course for our corporate and day clients. The standard course takes you through all the elements of the VISUAL BASIC, version 6.0, and VB.NET compiler and editor. VB is an Object Oriented programming language and you will learn the OOP paradigm. All the features of the Properties Box, the Project Box and the ToolBox are explained in detail and demonstrated in example programs. You will learn the skills of developing stand alone Windows applications using VISUAL BASIC. Examination optional.

Intended For :

You - if you feel you need to update your VB skills or learn Visual Basic.

Prerequisites :

Familiarity with using Windows and a basic knowledge of programming or scripting. No previous knowledge of Visual Basic required. You must like writing code both at home and in our office.

  • Set up Forms using Controls from the ToolBox and set the Properties.
  • Design the Applications appearance and set up Graphical Objects(The Icon Library)
  • Create code to react to events and change Properties from event coding.
  • Draw shapes, use Fonts, Text boxes, Check Boxes, Option Buttons, List Boxes,
  • Combo Boxes, Scroll Bars and the Timer Control.
  • Use Mouse events and handle Keyboard Input.
  • Create Menus and short-cut keys.
  • Create MDI Forms and Child Forms.
  • Create Help Files and attach them to a VB application.
  • Use the DataBase Management System and SQL system.
  • Create programs which interact with other Windows applications using DDE.
  • Create and use ActiveX components from windows DLLs.
  • Create your own Objects.
  • Throughout the course there is a large emphasis on CODING and handling Windows events - e.g. mouse events, keyboard events, scroll events etc.

    Course Delivery :

    P.C.'s using Windows 2000 and VB.NET 20005. You will be one to one, or in a very small group. We will deliver the course at your office and demonstrate on your local systems if required, or you may bring along your own laptop. You will have a mature experienced teacher.

    Certification :  

    City & Guilds of London Institute 7261-205, or 225 Information Technology in Visual BASIC Programming. This exam is Optional.
